Overnight temperature dropped to 11°C but a clear blue sky has seen the temperature rise to 28°C with every chance of going higher. The humidity is only 26% which is really dry for here.

We reached 31c but it's dropped back a degree now, the NE wind has got up and taken the edge off the temperature, they did mention sea breezes on the forecast, and any thing from the NE is usually a sea breeze around here directly from the "north pole."
That's a local pub by the way .

The temperature has risen to 29°C and the humidity has fallen to 22% probably due to the strengthening Westerly wind. A good drying wind as my mother would have said.

I dont think I will be taking much notice of the hosepipe ban that starts at one minute past 12 tomorrow morning.
Just been reading and you can water outdoor sports areas between 8am and 10 am and 5 to 9pm.

You can also water a new lawn for 28 days after it has been laid during the same hours..

Sounds like a load of rubbish to me.

I' ve also heard that you're permitted to fill hot tubs too in some areas, but not here in Hampshire. Screenshot_20220811-173134_Chrome.jpg

So when my pump in my pond clogs up and the fish die because there's not enough oxygen in the water I can take all my dead fish along to the offices of the water company and dump them there.

                    Yeah, like hell.

In the past bans I thought livestock including domestic ornamental fish were exempt. I expect the RSPCA will have something to say about this if not.

Set off out this evening with friends who like to eat early....it was 42°C. 31°C at 10.30pm coming home. The Spanish have got it right, I reckon. Start eating and partying around 11pm when the temperatures are pleasant. On the bright side, there's nothing quite like an evening swim under a full moon and beautiful, starry sky, surrounded by fragrant plants and nocturnal wildlife....
