Still going strong though I have had to remove a few buds as they were dying back.

Anthurium flowering on living room table 27th June 2022 (Macro).jpg
        .
Our granddaughter thought the plant might have been made of plastic as the "flowers" felt to her as if they were made of plastic!:thud:

Nice to see your house plants @Balc, I have two Gloxinias from last year but they are only just starting to grow now.

I just clicked on the link to 'Eli' and it seems she is female but Eli is a man's name  so it must be an abbreviation for something.

It was the name of my great-grandfather, that's why I chose it on the other forum.

Yes @bluegeranium you are on the right thread.
It's just that I know @Balc from another forum where I have the name 'Eli' and there's a different member called 'Eli' on this forum.

Your Anthurium is beautiful, I've had one for many years and have cuttings from it but none of them ever flower.

A couple of brashy Gloxinias that have managed to survive the heat.
Old fashioned plants these days but we still find it hard to resist their big velvety trumpets.

They're beautiful ! I love Gloxinias. I bought two last year but this year they are very small and have no flowers.

I used to grow Gloxinia from seed and still got flowers first year, then a tuber to save over winter.

Was always a bit hit and miss regarding what the flowers were going to be like but most were worth while.

Ours were tubers purchased spring of last year and they did flower that year though they are much bettter this year, though only 3 of the 5 tubers came though the winter storage ok.

They say water them each time with quarter strength tomato feed and use tepid rather than cold water and allow them to dry out a little between each watering, seems to have workd for us and surprisingly stood up to the heat better than most plants.

My plant has picked up since I moved it to the kitchen. On the living room table it seemed very sad & the flowerbuds turned brown & I had to remove a lot of them But perhaps it got better light in the kitchen & has had several flowers since then.

I accidentality let it dry out more than usual this week but gave it a little water yesterday & some tomato fertilizer this morning. Hopefully it will pick up again now that the temps are starting to drop after a week of temps in the 30Cs almost every day.
