Solved Another unknown rhizome

Can any one identify this grass-like plant for me? Spent an afternoon revamping our sailing club garden and we found a large clump of this buried beneath a euonymus. Looks like a deciduous grass of some kind. Have quarantined the bits I brought home in a pot until I know whether it is desirable or not!

 

It looks like a sedge I once had. I dug it out because it became invasive. Sorry, cannot remember the name.

 

It may be Carex pendula which is quite invasive, but I'm not 100% sure

 

I'm fairly sure that's an acorus sp, there is a golden form called acorus golden ogon that is popular and yours has a slight golden look so could be a similar cultivar. It isn't an invasive species and is quite a well behaved clump former which does well in pond margins.

 

I don’t think it’s a carex, I’ve had the dubious pleasure of digging clumps of those out before now. Could well be an Acorus @Thevictorian (thank you), it was in a neat clump easily forked out, just overwhelmed by the Euonymus. Will keep in a pot until I’m sure.

 

Fairly certain it is Acorus Ogon, certainly the roots look like mine when I divide it. A useful plant for boggy areas.
