also, these are about 6 feet tall.
is it ok to keep cutting / pruning these to be that sort of height?

Hello kamchow and welcome to GC.

They are double Nerium Oleanders which have been trained into trees from shrubs. One would have to trim them yearly in order to keep the shape. I just let mine sprawl as 3-4 meter tall shrubs.

    Where are they located?

They are so stunning when they are grown like that I totally agree.. I think they need more sun & heat than we can give them here Pete don't you.? It is always hot sunny countries where they grow like that it seems to me.. There are a row of them along a garden wall in Jamaica, a sort of peachy colour & not far from where we are & they always seem to be in flower..!!:D

I have two very bushy shrubs now about 5ft high but as stated, they never flower as profusely here as abroad.

hey, a hearty thanks for all the replies.

as you have guessed, these are not from UK.
these are growing in the sunny & warm areas of Nice.

so, Nerium Oleanders need lots of sunshine & warmth eh?
more than possible in UK it seems.
    shame.

perhaps a few hundred years of global warming might change that!

still, i might give it a shot in my back garden.
they do look great, when in bloom.

Very poisonous though, holiday makers have been known to use the stems as skequers to barbecue meat, as they grow very straight & on the coast.

The meat absorbed the poison & killed em.

Take note Sussexgardener, this one is a must for your poisonous garden.
