    Isn't a hairy mouse just a hamster.

Surely it would be cheaper just to knit an elephant a woolly jumper.

Or better to spend the money on ways to reduce global warming like education on emissions and behaviour? But that would have to be not for profit wouldn't it?

I know the BBC World Service has been cutting back on its overseas stations, and every time I tune in to it in the early hours of the morning it is guaranteed to be either presented by or featuring an American voice and sounding like Voice of America, but Trump really has lost the plot here. Does he really want the Chinese to indoctrinate the rest of the world?

I disagree I also often listen to the World Service and don't hear a disproportionate number of American accents, there's a couple 0f West Indian accents, the business news programme c0100 is presented by an English accent with input from an American chap and a lady in Singapore, Stumped is presented by an English lady with an Australian and an Indian. The 0300 programme is presented by a variety of English voices and people telling their stories are from around the world so different accents, news reports are from correspondents in the country in question with a variety of accents, but often English. science programmes typically English presenter and a variety of guests, who given the amount of US science around, are often American. Although given the USA's current bout of the DTs this will no doubt drop off.
I'm xsure if it was easier to report from China or Russia there would be more Chinese and Russian accents.
So which WS channel are you tuning into.

            IMG_6173.jpeg Today’s offering.

BBC World Service Online - Schedules

I mean, considering that there are 56 countries in the Commonwealth, how many of those are mentioned in your average World Service day? And that’s not taking into account countries that aren’t in the Commonwealth.

The average is irrelevant I was simply staing that I believe your assertion that there is a predominance of American voices is wrong. It doesn't matter for my arguement what they actually are so long as they are not American.
As I say which particular WS are you listening to. I listen to whatever is on Radio 4 between 0100 hrs and 0520 hrs. From 0520 hrs to 0100 hrs it's Radio 4.

I can quite imagine that the mobile service is very popular at the moment especially for those who are some way from a local tip. Am glad that people are wanting to use it. At the moment if you are lucky enough to get a collection the recycling and general waste are all going in together.

Luckily our tip is only a couple of miles down the road so we have been taking our general and recycling waste there ourselves.

It doesn’t seem to be that long since we had our last lot of bin strikes and here we go again :dunno:

Yet another disappointment with a young kid, he was about 22 years old. We agreed on $18.00 an hour. He picked up all the branches in the yard, limbs etc using wheel barrel took to the burn pile. Some raking out of areas, dragging leaves to designated area. At the end of the day I wrote him a check for $72.00. He said he'd be back Thursday at 10:30AM. Now its 2:18PM no text, no call, no show. Guess he's dead in the gutter.

Shouldn't be surprised at this; if you deport all the migrants who do the manual labour, then you need to expand the available work force. As children have school in the daytime it makes perfectly good sense to encourage them to work overnight.
