I’ve been learning a new “thing” - Tunisian crochet.

first attempt - a sort of entrelac pattern. I decided that I had enough cushion covers, so made a shoulder craft bag.

Second attempt - no pattern this time, but I wanted it to be more patchwork, so worked out how to add a square to the right of the first one…. Another knee blanket for those cold evenings, currently blocking on a spare bed (coat hanger to give an idea of scale)

It's lovely @Valley Gardener but won't it fade in the sun?

I have recently tried granny squares as we had a crochet project day at patch club. I didn't get on well at all. They turned out lumpy and my mentors blamed the cotton thread I chose because I wanted shades of denim and white and not the gaudy horrors.

I do like your afghans tho @Victoria - interesting texture and subtle colours.

I coat the pebble with white Gesso to start, then base coat the back ground etc in good quality acrylics, finishing with 2 coats of yacht varnish. They dont fade but hard frosts dont help!
I did the fishes bellies in Pebeo gold which is a fantastic paint and not expensive.
I will try and find a pic of my crocheted bag,I chose cotton too,but it looked awful, wrong colours and lumpy!!

I think the biggest problem with that bag is that it's longer than it is wide so hard to find stuff at the bottom. I can do straight line crochet but going round in circles to get a square is not good for me - yet. After all, I have to find something to do with my cotton thread.

Some of the cotton yarn is very expensive, especially Scheepjes, only use that for my little animal clothes.
I'm sure you'll soon have inspiration to use it wisely @Obelix-Vendée

It is lovely and the salmon colour matches Connie's tail.
