Love your bear @Valley Gardener and yes, she needs a cardigan.

Love your springer @Penny_Forthem. You always do the eyes so well in you pawtraits.

Good Afghan @Victoria. Crochet is all the rage again and Possum has been looking at crochet tops and skirts but the shapes are all wrong for her curves - fortunate, I feel, as they always seem to be in ghastly, garish colours. Would I please crochet a nice top? No!

I've had another go at a Granny Square bag.
I think an improvement on the last one hopefully as I've done it for a friend. 20250710_171201.jpg 20250710_171238.jpg

I like the colours there. I have never thought of doing large Granny Squares. I dislike the sewing together ... or sewing ends in. I finished one today but have not photographed yet. I give all of mine to charity. I must keep my hands busy, especially since I had multiple mini strokes and lost my balance so can't do other hobbies.

That's lovely Victoria, is it done with cotton yarn?
Other halves should be more caring over all our hard stitching!:)

Thank you. I always use acrylic as it works nicely and washes well.
I don;t see how it can be difficult to straighten.

Where in Rhondda are you? I was born in Pontypridd on The Graig and Christened in Treforest.

We moved to Porth further up the valley when we came back from living in Spain 8 years ago

My problem is arthritis,on top of being disabled, my OH has just put rustic type rails for me in the garden.
Keep going as long as possible is my mantra . And I can tell you are the same Victoria!

Oh, I am SO sorry but I have only just found this.   I think the extensive high heat is getting to me!

A big change from Spain back to the Valley. After leaving Wales my family moved to Canada then America. Our mother died in 1956 so my sister and I went to England to school then back to America for college. Then I married an American and we moved to England in 1977. We have been here now for 25 years.

I love the railings. Send your OH here please. I hobble around my garden which I love with a walker.

I don't know if you look in on my "An Algarve Garden" which I update regularly. Vxx

All the crafters have no doubt been busy in their gardens.
I managed to get quite a few spring bulbs in yesterday, but mostly these last few days I've been doing indoor things.
I've actually followed a pattern for this bag,but the dog is my own concoction. Needs a lining but me and my sewing machine fall out quite often! 20250920_174105.jpg 20250920_173927.jpg

Just caught up on this thread it’s super your crochet bag with the little dog @Valley Gardener . I don’t crochet but I will be making some Gonks soon ready for our ‘Xmas Fayre’ we hold at our Local Hospital every year . Keep me busy through the ‘Fall ‘. P.S My OH put up some rails on a path leading up to our ‘top deck’ as I call it where our decking is and yes it is sort of rustic now .
