I keep forgetting to add pix here.
The collared doves were keeping me amused a few days ago when I was working in the shed, which is just a few yards from the ornamental screen and bird feeder cages.

The other two weren't getting a look in when it came to being framed for a pic

Young robin found a little seat just outside the kitchen window

..and the young wood pigeon was having a nosey into my bedroom when I opened the curtains on Saturday. The clematis support was a handy seat for it.

Weirdly, one of the little collared doves did the same yesterday morning, but I didn't manage to get a pic.

The only things that will be flying and buzzing around here today will be neighbours’ trampolines and empty rubbish bins.:rolleyespink:

We've already had a the main line between Glasgow and Edinburgh closed because of one of those r*ddy trampolines. They should be banned. If you want one, you should have to concrete them in - properly.
We often get stormy weather here in summer, but not usually quite as strong winds. Ours are in the 50 to 60mph today. Glad I'm not living on any of the western islands just now.

Our kite has gradually become less scared of us and this morning was the last step. :dbgrtmb:

He seems to have got to accept me completely now. This morning I went out to give him some fat I had cut off the lamb chops.

I walked on to the lawn while he was watching me from the top of the tree and I then waved my arm, as usual, to him and he took off. Normally he circles above until I have dropped the food on the lawn and then walked back to the patio.

This time I bent down and put the meat on the lawn and started to step back and as I was straightening up he swooped right down where I was and brushed me with his wing tip whilst scooping it up.

          A lovely surprise. :)

I well remember being invited to attend a meeting at Wormsley, the home of Paul Getty, in 1989, just after the very first red kites had been released into the wild on his estate. I remember seeing them flying over the house and hoping that they would survive. And now they are almost everywhere. One of life’s success stories. :)

I've never seen them around here.
I don't think they would like the confined spaces, most I see is the odd buzzard circling, which is something that would have been rare 20 yrs ago.

Lovely pic @shiney . Funnily enough, I saw an item yesterday about them being seen in Somerset.
I didn't read it though as I was going out, but it seemed to have caused much excitement. I presume they aren't common there, or haven't been in a long time. A good story in the news - for a change!

Buzzards are very common here, and I hadn't seen many this year, but there was 3 the other day circling overhead and mewling. Hopefully you'll see some more regularly now @pete.

@fairygirl they are in Somerset and have been for some years. Not in huge numbers but increasing all the same. News headlines......not sure why it was so dramatic.

Thanks @On the Levels . It 'appeared' to be big news, but I didn't read it so wasn't sure. They like to dramatise things every so often, don't they?
I suppose it was seen as a nice bit of news, rather than the doom and gloom everywhere, so perhaps that was the reason. Everything is so depressing just now.

Good if they're increasing though. As long as they have the right habitat and food, hopefully that'll continue. :blue thumb:

Lovely pics of "your" kite @shiney. We have plenty here with the buzzards. The Hoopoo has visited the last couple of days trying to find something to eat in the hard parched lawn without success. The blackbirds are also having a bad time trying to find something to eat. No measurable rainfall since May. I am giving them a helping hand with meal worms and fruit.
