    Afternoon all!

Not sure if this qu belongs here or in the computer section.

Is there a way to change the background colour of an image file for free and using only an ipad. I can open it in my iphotos and do some scribbling with nibs of various sizes, but what I really wanted to do was colour behind, not just around the image.

It is a picture of a purple sweet pea flower on a completely white background. I would like the background to be tinted a soft blue or mauve, without affecting the flower. I purchased the image from Adobe. I can give the file number if anyone wants to see it on their site, but it is not possible to post a direct link to its page.

Thank you, @Obelix-Vendée. I didn't realise there was a free version of Photoshop.

      :blue thumb:

Edit, I see it is a free "trial", which means you have to upload payment details, and Abode, Shutterstock, etc, all have a really bad reputation for not allowing cancellation at the end of the free period, so you end up paying for a yr. It is the same with their images - you can get 10 "free", but it costs you hundreds of pounds in reality. (Check out the Trustpilot reviews to see the number of people who get caught out by this.) What I do instead is pay a set amount up front for a given number of images, with no ongoing subscription. They work out expensive - £6-7 each once VAT is added - but it avoids the subscription trap.

It's not that people forget. It's that they can't cancel. Basically, it's a way of luring customers in. That's why you have to give your card details upfront.

Thank you, @Pete8. I will work my way through the suggestions. :blue thumb:

I know what you mean, @Jiffy. These things are developed by those who know what they are doing, and are not always easy for us mere mortals to decipher. ;)

That's what I'm after, @Palustris. :blue thumb: Can I ask how you did that?

You won't be able to download it without paying. Don't sign up for a "free" trial. It will tie you in for a yr, and end up costing about £250. :hate-shocked:

If I could work out how to send you a message, you could email me the image at full size and I could do it for you and email it back.
I used Photoshop 7 (a very old version)

That looks very useful, @mazambo. :blue thumb: I like that they offer you some backgrounds and colour options. I will bookmark it to have a play later.
