I belong to another garden forum as well as this one, but the question I've got is about my computer.
However, if it is not allowed on here it can be deleted ( and I will be greatly displeased )

    The question is this :-
On this other forum you can add photos (as you can here) but one of my laptops allows this to happen and the other one doesn't.
This means there's nothing wrong with the forum, but the issue is with my laptops.
Can someone suggest why one of my laptops would suddenly not allow me to download photos to this forum while the other one still does ? And what if anything I can do about it.

Doubt it will be anything wrong with your laptop, more to do with your account on that other forum ?
Probably best to ask the moderators etc. in that other forum for guidance.

Assume you can post pics in here from either laptop ?

Yes I can add them from both computers on G F , but all my new photos are on the other computer i.e. the one that suddenly refuses to add photos to the other forum.

I don't think there are moderators on the other forum, it's an American thing which allows you to create your own forum. The man who created it doesn't know why my computer has suddenly decided not to upload photos to that forum.
I think it may be something to do with cookies ?

It could be cookies, or just an automated verification that you are a person and not a bot. Bots are out there mass uploading photos and other content to any website that hasn't got its guards up.

Is there a difference on the operating system or Windows on your laptops? Search in here for Operating system and let us know what each laptop tells you.

Accepting all cookies on sites you frequent is a good idea, cookies don't mean more ads but just tailoring the ads you see towards what might be more interesting to you ( i.e. not showing car ads to me as I don't drive, and not showing lipstick revolution ads to my Dad) .

Thank you @Selleri but I'm lost. I don't know what I'd be searching for.
      The computers are both windows11
I haven't changed the cookies or anything else, they are the same now as they were before this trouble began.
I never see adverts, I've got adblockers. I'm not interested in anything unless I intend to buy it, and then I will look it up myself.
It's all too complicated for me. I think I'll just leave it as it is.

Just a stupid question Michael, I assume you can post with both computers its just the picture upload that doesn't work on one of the computers.

Yes that's correct @pete, I can write things but suddenly the option for adding photos is not there any more - i.e. on one laptop, the other one still shows the 'Add Photos' option.
That means there's nothing wrong with the forum, it's my laptop.

My photos are all on the computer that doesn't show 'Add Photos'
I could transfer them by means of a memory stick but it's such a faff, and I can't find the memory stick anyway.

Have you tried the "more options" at the bottom of the page.

@Michael Hewett what does it actually say or do when you come to that stage of uploading?
Do you get an error message from the forum after you clicked on a picture?
Or can’t you navigate through your folders and click on a picture and it doesn’t do anything?

My recent photos are on my sd card that is in the camera.
I usually upload them via a card reader plugged into one of the USB sockets on the computer.

Here's a screen shot of the page in question :-

            Screenshot_25-8-2025_114340_garden-friends.co.uk.jpeg

I can type words but the 'Add image to post' thing is not there on my other laptop.
It used to be there but has disappeared.

The whole page is visible on the screen.
The 'Add attachment' is complicated and only allows one photo to be downloaded anyway, so it's no good.

There is no 'more options' anywhere, the arrow by the star brings down a menu saying 'Bookmark' and nothing else.

I upload photos to the computer the same way as you @pete, but there is no slot for the card reader on this laptop. I have to plug it into a 'thing', and then plug the 'thing' into the little hole at the side of the laptop. I've tried it but can't get it to work, that's why my photos are on the other laptop - the one where the 'add photos' has disappeared from.

Anyway I'm fed up with it now, it's getting on my nerves. I think I'll just not bother with it any more. Maybe it will reappear one day, just as suddenly as it vanished

Ok so you are creating a thread and not just replying to another thread which is already there.

The add image is always down the bottom for me, have you tried scrolling down?
