Yes, @fairygirl - I had to spend 2 unscheduled nights in a hostel in Oban, waiting for Storm Amy to pass and the ferry to run again... weather "mixed" would be a fair description! But still my favourite place.

 

The ferries had a tough time @Liriodendron , but that's not unusual for the west coast, as you'll know well. Glad you were ok. It's been a real mix this autumn - from much calmer than normal, to more gales and rain than usual. Bring on the proper frosts - much easier to manage!
