Walkers claim they have always used those colours. I suspect it was another brand - maybe Golden Wonder? - that did them the other way around, in the days before Walkers became a dominant brand.

I so sympathise @Spruce ( although not about Walkers Crisps - forever tainted in my mind by Gary Lineker!) My favourite supermarket has recently swapped the deli round, so the ham is where the cheese used to be. It’s only a matter of a yard or two, but it really has thrown me! It took me ages to retrain my brain to remember that the tea is where the biscuits used to be. And don’t get me started on the bin bags, which for some inexplicable reason are no longer by the tissues, but are now next to the gluten free selection. In fairness, I suppose they are gluten free.

It drives me nuts too when supermarkets decide to shift everything around. To be fair it drives the staff in our local Co-op crazy too when it comes to restocking and they don't know where anything is. When I asked them why it happens the somewhat jaded response was that the managers have too much time on their hands.

It's a sales ploy. While you are wandering around looking for whatever you want, you may be tempted to buy other things as well. Many years ago my OH used to work for a company who went into the stores overnight and did all the moving around of the stock.

Does anyone know the difference between pickle and chutney?

Only I cant work out why they are miles away from one another in the supermarket I use.

Cooking oil and olive oil, different aisles. Why?

There are other examples, but I cant think of them at the moment.

Ice cream cornets and ice cream - miles apart.
                      Bisto and cornflour.
Cake ingredients, but no sugar nearby.

Online it's worse. Tinfoil comes under kitchen - kitchen foil. Otherwise it does not come up. A whole new world of guess what it's under.

Our nearest large supermarket is Tesco and they spent three months refitting it. That is also totally illogical in where they put things. The veg aisles used to be all together but now they are split by the fruit aisle. Milk and non dairy 'milk' products are no longer together and cheeses are also not near them. Veggies such as Caulis and broccoli are now on raked shelves instead of flat boxes so they easily get knocked onto the floor. Trying to find things adds quite a bit of time to shopping.

That all makes our SM positively logical!

Except they mix shampoo and conditioners in together, mostly, and nobody but us seems to have normal hair. It's nearly all for coloured/damaged/dry/dandruffy types so takes a lot of ti eto search thru.

In the entrance of the local Sainsbury is a large sign with cheery looking traditionally dressed and equipped cheery butcher; entitled Vegetarian Butcher, now does this mean he butchers vegetarians or although he prepares meat and meat products, but is himself a vegetarian. In the first case why has he not been arrested and in the second case I'm not interested in his dietary choices.
