This Common Plume Moth stayed on the glass of our front door all day today, despite our comings and goings.

An excellent programme on TV last night (BBC 4 I think ) about butterflies.

@Philippa yes an excellent programme with some stunning filming of the butterflies emerging from their pupae. The release of the caterpillars into areas that may not have what they need has been controversial for some years if not illegal (I think). Many years a company (don't know when) gave live butterflies out to wedding couples to release when they were married. They were stopped from doing this for obvious reasons, but other companies have started not just for weddings but funerals and others.

Not buzzing or flying but sunbathing. I stopped counting the ladybirds when the numbers went past 50.
