I did a business plan when i started and bought to within a set budget £3000 if I remember. I bought a selection of esential handtools, a hayter mower and stihl brush cutter, stihl hedge trimmer and stihl chainsaw.

Only the hand tools I still use, all the machines have either been upgraded and sold on or kept as spare with couple exceptions all my 2 stroke kit is husquvarna now. intrestingly I barely lost anything on the ree sale value of my initial kit.

well i had a 60 quiid hayter (still in the family and going strong :D) 40 quid petrol hedge cutter 15 quid strimmer and a stihl brushcutter i was given and all the hand tools i allready had and still use all i spent was on the insurance :thumb: then i gradually replaced all but the mower that lasted me just over 2 years b4 the rust started to get to bad on the deck and i got a massport that fell to pieces in 18 months  so now ive just got a hayter ranger all my other 2 stroke stuffs stihl apart from a auger and thats just a cheep one cos i dont do all that much fenceing but its the best 200 quid ive spent in a while ;)

Am looking to replace my hedge cutter soon though what do you use ?
