    Good evening all.
Not logged into GC for a while. (According to my stat.s I last visited in 1970, although I'm sure it wasn't quite that long ago! lol) I haven't got any good excuses, other than the usual, being a very busy working house-wife and mother doesn't allow me much recreational time, and any "me" time that I do have is spent in the garden!
Anyway, I received an Email inviting me to come and check out the new forum layout, so I thought it's about time I did. I'm sure I was one of many who received the Email, but it still made me feel warm & fuzzy inside :)
Anyway, I didn't formally introduce myself when I originally joined so it seemed appropriate to do so now following my absence. I've had a bit of a mooch round and noticed lots of new members since I was last here, so, here's a big HELLO to all members new & old!
My name is Beki, I'm a hobby gardener, although "hobby" doesn't seem big enough a word, I'm passionate about gardening and although I still consider myself very much an amateur, I just can't get enough of it. I have lived with depression for many years and gardening has become a wonderful therapy.
We live on a council estate with a small town garden approx. 35ftx1517ft NE facing with heavy clay. I concentrate mainly on flowering perennials.
I am more than happy to share what I have learnt and will be forthcoming with with any snippits of advice I think may be relevant.
Looking forward to chatting with you all again soon.
    Regards, Beki xxx

Hello Beki - good to meet you.

Fresh air, gentle exercise and being surrounded by natural beauty IS the very best thing for depression. I am glad you found gardening to help you - it has the lot!

This forum has so much more than gardening though - it has good people who are friendly and sincere - that is priceless.

    Come back and stay!

    Cookie
