Well, it's been almost a year since I painted but decided maybe I'd bring out the paints and brushes again ...

A few years ago I did a painting called Fire in the Sky which I had issues with and could never get right ...

Last year I blanked it out with red paint and into the closet it went.

Yesterday it came out and became ..

Lady in the Shadows ... on a 40cm x 30cm stretched canvas painted with a J-cloth in acrylics in a textured form with highlights in metallic gold, bronze and copper.

I have to say that when I smeared the paints the face just 'appeared' .. it certainly was not planned ... so I just worked around it ... possibly a sign ...

I still haven't decided what my style of painting is but I continue to exhibit and only time will tell.

I'd love that on my wall.

In fact I could redecorate a room just to build it round that picture - I think it's fabulous

Thank you Robert, DAG, Hec, Woo, Marley and Peri for all your lovely comments. It's good to have the encouragement, especially if you are trying somethng new and unsure yourself.

I have changed the name of the painting to Eve ....

Peri, I currently have a selection of my Eucalyptus tree paintings on display near where I live. Last summer they were exhibited up in the mountains at a lovely place and previously they have been on display in Eastern Algarve.

They are all for sale, barring a few selected ones which we wish to keep ourselves.

Please feel free to have a look around my website www.victoriart.eu.

    Again, thank you all. :luv:

    Thank you roders. :luv:

I have sent an e-mail with a pic of Blue Anenome to my friend who was here last month and will be back to collect it in June ... I do so hope she likes it. :ntwrth:

These concepts I am now applying are 'new' to me and at the same time exciting.

I like the flowers Victoria, but it is hard to judge the Sandstorm as textured effects and metallics have to be seen in real life as they are not picked up by the camera.

But well done and more power to your elbow!:gnthb:
