    Good afternoon everyone.

I have had a busy morning so far today, having taken my car to the garage for nine and then the scaffolders arrived to put up the scaffolding ready for the brickies coming tomorrow. One of the chaps was up on the roof when it peed down with rain so he ended up getting soaked:oops:

Shiney, sounds like you were busy yesterday,I expect you have got to get it all done before the end of the week/month:thmb:

Jazmine my mum didn't want to be a nan as a nanny is a female goat so she was always a granny and one of my friends is a gran as she didn't like the nanny title either:D

Right,I'm off to get some more jobs done away from the banging and clanging going on outside:D

    Have a good afternoon everyone:)

    Good afternoon all!

Haven't been on here for ages - time.....where oh where does it go?

Woo - just noticed your local escape is Allhallows - we pop down there once in a while as well, friends have a site in the park down there and it's always good for a quick getaway or down with the kids for the day when they are there.

Lots of reading up to do here and catch up with what everybody's up to!

Shiney - looks like you have no heating at the moment? Brrrrr - hope it gets sorted soon - especially if we do get that cold snap predicted at the weekend.

Jazmine - you are so talented making your own cards - one of these days......when I retire in 20 years or so.....I'll get back into crafting. Of course, it's always nice to receive hand cafted cards as well....just the thought that goes into them. My sis does cross stitched ones each year - always special :)

    Take care all :)

    Evening all, :luv:

Natalie where have you been?? Glad to see you here, it has been very quiet of late. I have just made a knitted heart decorated with buttons for Dionne and I will try to get a pic up soon of how the cards are coming along. Between this house and my sons houses and looking after little man [he is coming to stay this weekend] I don't know where the days go

Shiney I am so glad you have got things sorted- it makes you really appreciate things doesn't it? I can remember when had ice on the inside of the bedroom windows and coats on the beds to keep warm!

    Good morning everyone,

It looks lovely outside with the brilliant sunshine sending shafts of reflected light off the heavy frost.

I still don't seem to be catching up on the paperwork. It is coming in faster than I can get rid of it. Maybe I should just tip everything off the top of my desk into the bin. :hehe:

    Have a great day :D

    Good morning Woo and everyone,

I'm a bit late this morning as I have been getting the veggies ready for dinner this evening plus looking to the needs of all of our cats plus the ones that have decided they would rather live with us than their own owners:D

Got loads to do up to Christmas so not going to have a lot of time to spend on the computer and I have a few emails that need answering so will have to make time to answer them.:D

We have had a good frost last night although the roads and paths are dry and hoping we might get a touch of the white stuff tonight:yez:I said to Mr Kandy last night on our walk that we will get the snow now and then it will turn mild ready for xmas, but we will have to wait and see:cry:

Hope you all have a great day:)

Good morning Shiney, sorry I must have been posting while you were getting yours done:o

If you have too much paperwork then that is probably a good thing surely as it means it will keep your brain active:DI thought when you retire you would have less of the paperwork to do?:scratch:The other alternative is to put it all through the shredder so you can chuck it on the compost heap:lollol:

Anyway, must dash as the builders have arrived so had better go and move my car:D

Have a good day,and don't forget to keep the bird feeders topped up.I have just been and done mine:thmb:

Good morning - but a cold one it is! Hope that anybody who has snow is well stocked up and doesn't have the need to go anywhere!

Shiney - if you run out of paperwork by any chance, let me know....I'll send some of mine! It's absolutely manic with work right now - our busiest term of the entire academic year. However....our lovely boss has decided we deserve a reward - so this year our office Christmas party is a four day ski trip flying out to Geneva on the 9th, then travel to Murzine in the alps for four days of being totally spoilt :) Not a bad 'thanks for getting us through the recession' Christmas party!

Kandy - yes, been and done my feeders this morning as well - they are eating up a frenzy :) Not a bad 'fee' for the enjoyment they give eh?

Jazmine - hey - the theme for our Christmas party dinner is 'knitwear by Grandma'.....fancy knitting me something to wear? lol I'll be out scouring the charity shops looking for something appropriate!

Woo - good to see you - looks like we may get snow on the weekend? Spending several evenings a week over your way these days - boys have discovered an indoor skateboard park down in the business park by the airport - great safe place and run by volunteers as a charity - so nice to support a good safe place for the kids to go rather than the local council skate parks that just turn into a teen hangout and the kids feel it's not a nice place to go :(

Penny - any more snow? Still laugh at the snow drifts on the way down to Toronto from your area, and my FIL spinnng out twice on the road coming from Owen Sound :(

Have a great day everybody - Jazmine - enjoy your weekend :)

    Good morning everyone,

Its cold and breezy here, had flurries lastnight but thankfully there's nothing on the ground this morning!!

Hey Nat!!!!!! Good to see you........we had flurries lastnight but nothing stayed, but they are calling for a heck of an Arctic storm for us this weekend, and yep that drive down to Toronto can be pretty wicked( drive it 2-3 times a week), i drive down Airport road, and its heavily travelled, and thank god for 4 wheel drive, and good snow tires!!
I was in Owen Sound a couple of weeks ago, popped over to see my Dad.

    Good morning everyone,

It is another bright, sunny and very frosty day but it looks good out there :thumb:

I had to scrape the ice off the car last night before coming home from a match. At least it was a bit of exercise :hehe:.

I'm off for my regular treatment from the chiropractor this morning. He is in a town a couple of towns down the road so I hope the traffic is OK. Then it is back home to catch up on a bit of paperwork before we go off to a posh country house hotel for the U3A Christmas afternoon tea. We have to get back from that pretty prompt as Mrs shiney has a friend coming round and then they are going off to their flower club in the next village. I have my bridge club to go to in the evening in the next town and won't get home until close to midnight.

Being a retired old fogey is such hard work :lollol: :lollol:

    Have a great day :D

    Good morning Shiney and everyone,

Sounds like everyone is busy at the moment and it will get more hetic as the weeks go on up to the big day,but I must say I am so looking forward to the big day and spending some quality time with Mr Kandy:D
I'm busy defrosting the old freezer that we have in the garage as it is quiet built up with ice and when it is very cold like it is at the moment,is the only time I can take all the stuff out of the freezer and not have it thaw out:DI have some containers full of very hot water in the freezer to speed things up a bit so will have to spend some time changing them when the water gets cool.Mr Kandy jsut phoned up and I asked him if it was ok to pour boiling water onto the snowy elements to defrost them but he has advised against:yez:

We had another good frost last night and I have had to defrost all the bird feeders and water bowl Natilie as they were all frozen solid this morning and only the starlings were able to get to the food properly with their strong beaks:D

Hope you all have a great day:)
