Hi Everyone!

I'm a bit of a beginner - both in gardening and in forums, so I'm hoping for lots of help.... I'm an ex-pat Brit living just south of Vienna in Austria. This puts us in a Z6 zone for winter-hardiness, but its worth remembering that our summer temperatures can reach 40 oC for days on end! We have a small garden which was set up this year after building the house (I'll get some piccies on later!) and I'm just learning what will and won't grow. We have lots of wind and I think that this will actually be one of our biggest gardening challenges. We grew Scarlet Emperor beans this year and they really suffered in the wind. I have a dwarf variety to try next year. I'm really looking forward to getting to know the site and hoping for some great advice!
