I had a visit to the gardens yesterday with my hubby(our anniversary!) beautiful sunny day but very cold.We used to go there a lot when we stayed in Edinburgh, so its been about ten years since our last visit. What a lovely place amazing orchids in the hot houses,I will try and get some pics posted up. :D

it's a great place, isn't it?! I love the hill with alpines, conifers and waterfall -it may not be as big as Kew, but it's really nice, and well worth a visit (nice caf© / restaurant too!)

Congrats on the aniversary, lovely way to spend your special day.

I've been to the Botanic in Glasgow before but I've never done Edinburgh. Will have to make the effort this year.

We were at the Bot. Gdns in Edinburgh last Sat aft, and alas it was cold rainy and dreek! We did 'indoors' but didn't even manage to find the cafe.....missed out on a good one there by the sound of it! Enjoyed what we saw tho' and promise to go back in the summertime.

frogesque..here's one for you...I also wanted to take my partner on a scenice tour of the Fife coast, all the wee fishing villages I remembered from years ago...Crail, Anstruther, Pittenweem.etc. From G'rothes we only got as far as Leven ..it was all built up areas, industrial sites and large housing estates! My partner was not impressed!and took a turning for Cupar and at least the country side was better viewing! Whereabouts are you?
