    please can anyone recomend potatoes that do not go to water when boiled

    Pink Firapple are the ones my daughter grows they are excellent very tasty with yellow flesh Yummy... [​IMG] funny shape tho don't attempt to peel em just give a good scrub and you will be back for more.

    Advice I think I'll take - my pots get a bit mushy even though I always steam my veg!

    Im a bit of a tatty fiend and i prefer the drier types rather than the waxy ones so getting the boiling just right is a bit of a skill. The main thing i thing is to keep an eye on the pot and turn down the heat to a slow simmer once it starts to boil. Take them off the heat and drain immediately they are cooked. I then give them a shake in the pan to dry them off a bit.

    My very favorite variety is the early Sharpes Express. It is usually ready at the same time as the first strawberries. Lovely.
