Help!!!....I'm a newbie and i need some help!!

    Hey everyone.
    I decided that this year i am going to get my front and rear gardens sorted out, but being a complete beginner to gardening i don't know where to start.
    I'm going to do the front garden first, which isn't a large plot to work on. It's basically a triangular area at the side of our angled driveway. I quite like the alpine rockery look. Is this a fairly low maintenance garden? as i have four young kids, one of which is autistic.
    Any ideas would be great.

    We have a fair number of Alpine rockery areas and can weed the biggest of them (30 foot by 20 foot in a day. AND that only needs doing a couple of times a year.

    Re your probelm - have you got a photo you can put on so we can see? That would help get some ideas going.

    Also consider a herb garden, young children like the various different smells
