There must be a mistake somewhere!

In my old school bible it says that the Psalm that goes "The Lord is my shepherd, ..." is Psalm 22. Everywhere else it is listed as Psalm 23. In my bible Psalm 23 is "The earth is the Lord's, ..."

After various people have said that this psalm is number 23, I think there must have been a misprint when my school bible went into print. Mine was printed in October 1957, a third printing/impression. After asking around here in Germany, I thought perhaps someone on GC could clear this up. Especially since I was given this bible when I went to school in England.

Without a shadow of doubt, Psalm 23 is "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want." The single most famous and well known Psalm.

Psalm 22 is "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"

"The earth is the Lord's and everything in it" is Psalm 24. Later it goes on "Lift up your heads, O you gates, be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle........He is the King of Glory."

    Magnificent!

    Serious printer's error there, methinks!

Thanks folks! After reading what you wrote MMD, I must check my bible as I now think that there is a Psalm missing.

After checking I have come to the conclusion that the printer got the two Psalms mixed up. You would have thought that the proofreader would have caught this one. I shall really write to them, but since my bible is so old I guess someone else picked it up and complained years ago. If and when I find out anything, I'll let yall know.

    I have found the answer!

The Douay bible is the one I was given in school and is a catholic one.
The King James bible is the one you quoted MMD and is a protestant one.
    Look in google.
