Hi Betty. We in Britain have had the wettest summer since records began. Some areas have had 3 months rain in the space of 48 hours. Gardens have been waterlogged, houses flooded and people killed. We in Wales have been relatively lucky but some areas of England have been devastated. You only have to read some of the postings on this site to see how people have been affected. We will get a summer but it will be a bit later this year. The forecast for tomorrow however is for high winds and heavy " showers ". David.

Same here, we haven't had rain for over two weeks, and it's hot. Well, 70-75 is hot in England. [IMG]

It's surprising how quickly things dry out, I have to water my greenhouse 3 times a day which is difficult when I'm at work all day.

At 104 how do you do anything? It must be an effort after a while.

Oh the beauty of having that kind of heat just imagine what we could grow here in the UK.

Don't know how I would cope with it though!

Hi Bettyb - I'm sat here listening to the rain against the window!!!! We had some sun over the weekend, but at the moment, its either too wet or too hot - nothing in between (mind you, our hot is likely to be positively cold by your standards!!!!!!!! :D ) We have hardly been out in the garden this year, and we bought a lovely new table and chairs too!!!! I can almost certainly say the weather will improve on Monday 3rd September - because thats when all the children got back to school!!!!!!!!!

I have just had a quick look to see where Cherryville is on Google Earth - you are in the middle of America!!! How far are you from the Ocean? I have always lived on the coast and can't imagine being so far from it!! I expect you get some extreme weather there. (hope you don't get tornadoes )
