Hi guys, can anyone help? If I cover the plants with fleece and it then rains, will the fleece still be effective if we then get a frost? All the best

Hi Cajary. I think the answer is yes. I think the reason why fleece works is because it keeps the plant out of the wind. The same way that you feel warmer if you get out of the wind. If the fleece is completely frozen over it will be completely out of the wind.

Thanks PeterS, I haven't used Fleece much before and could have done without this little cold snap! I'll see how it goes. Thanks again.

Fleece will remain effective in these conditions.

As an "offshoot" on this topic -perhaps it ought to go in the retailer feedback section - I bought a packet of two sturdy 40" by 45" plant protector bags made of fleece and complete with drawstrings at my local poundstore (or was it 99p store?) the other day. Just the job for popping over containers with frost- vulnerable
plants. A great bargain and worth a visit to both stores in order to seek out more!
