Hello, I'm a newbie to this site but the help and advice looks good so thought I'd try it! I want to grow some annuals to go in containers for my wedding at the end of July. I would need around 6-8 troughs full of flowers and maybe some hanging baskets and the colour scheme is pink and white. No real preference for flower type, but would just like something that is effective and easy to grow. What would be the best way to do this? Have I left it too late for the seed option? If not, which ones would you recommend? Or should I just buy some plugs and if so, when do I need to be buying these and putting them out in the containers for them to be in bloom end July? I think thats a great idea, but are you likely to get upset if your plants are in full bloom before wedding or not quite in full bloom in time, and with all the preperation do you have time to do it all? Do they have to be anuals? I mean lovely big white lillies would be superb for a wedding and just think of the yellow stain they could leave on your dress! Nurseries will often take orders for baskets and tubs to be made up by them and you just look after them - this could be a less stressful option. Hope I have not put you off - oh and if you had a small shrub in one of your tubs, it would be there forever as a reminder of your marrieage - which would hopefully last longer than the annuals.
July is not the greatest month for reliable flowers, to late for the May/June glut, and too early for the autumn splendour. Daylias might be an option, lilies can be in flower and roses - as well as fuchsias - but I can't think of many other annuals or perrenials that are reliably in flower in this month. Could just be a recipe for stress at an already stressful time - twould only take a pest or two, or a dry summer :( . Sorry to sound so pessimistic - but methinks a florist whilst expensive may be the safest option - unless you got a lot of friends whose gardens could be put at your disposal.

Or you could try using just busy lizzies. This is one of two that I made last year using the same 3 tier baskets.

Had 6 weeks notice of daughters wedding and started them off the day she told us they were getting married. They were stunning on the day she married 31st July. [ 18.
