Ground Elder

    Does ground elder have any use??
    If I let it flower can I make elderflower champage
    Can this persistant weed be of use to us.

    Not for me. Its a pain - though the leaf and flowers are quite nice, but it is such a thug that it is the bane of my life. Elder, not ground elder, can be good for both flowers and wine- but sadly I won;t try it, to sensitised by its relation

    It can be eaton like spinach, apparently. And I'm told the roots can be dried and ground down to make flour. But other than that, it's just a royal PITA. ;)

    Found this info which indicates it has uses. Looking at the picture, I think all the stuff I have to dig up on the side of the back garden is this, rather than nettles (as I thought). Aw, heck. :(
