Quite stunning tanks you have there mate! Really like your rockwork in seahorse tank. My partner has been keeping marines for around 4 years, and after learning by watching him(much like the garden) I set up a tank for seahorses a year ago...problem is it still doesn't have seahorses in it! It is currently inhabited by 1 pearly/yellow headed jawfish and a green mandarin. I don't have much grape algae in it any more, I prefer the look of the feather type. If you don't mind me making one small suggestion...although your kuda have lots of algae to hitch to, they may prefer a wider range of hitches. Love your corkscrew gorgonian(on my wish list) and this may do even better in your seahorse tank as it will be higher in nutrients. Hope you don't mind me saying. Have just joined but will get pics of tanks up soon, and am hoping to get seahorses in October :D

Actually, we dropped the green grape algae, as it is always going 'sexual'.

Decided it was better not to have it, Red on the other hand (Botryocledia spp.) doesn't suffer from that problem ...... Or at least we haven't encountered it.

The green grape algae was so proflific, we were giving it away in huge clumps, then lump by lump it was going white, so we removed it completely. It was more for decoration than aything to be honest, as Caulerpa prolifera and Caulerpa taxifolia are far better for removing nitrates IMO and are more stable.

If you want a clump of Red Grape algae (Botryocledia spp) let me know, I have sent some out to various users on UR including Tim ....... It reached him okay in the NL.

My word, this thread has brought back memories! :cry3:A long , long time ago, l used to keep tropical fish. At the time, my 2 sons were probably 9 and 11ish, and l worked part time. I couldn't understand where my fish were disappearing to. :love30: I would get home from work, and there would be even less fish, than at luchtime, when l had to leave for for work.

It was about 10 years ago, when my youngest son, snitched on his elder brother. Apparantly, at luchtime, the eldest one used to have his schoolmates in, and sell the fish to the highest bidder.

And l had been blaming my poor, large Angel Fish, who l thought - prompted by my son, had been eating them. I even gave the fish away to the local Pet Shop.:cry3::cry3::cry3:
