some of my pets.

    heres some of my pets. they are african rift lake cichlids. from lake malawi. and some of lake tanganyika . they live in water with an high ph of 8.0 to 8.6 and kh and gh of 9.0 to 14.0 and 16 to 19.0 i have a mixture of tank bred and wild. in a 5.5 ft tank filled with slate rocks.

    they are mouth brooders, that hold eggs and babies in they're mouths. for protection. they only realease if not in danger. as in this pic

    these fish loose the spotting with a yellow stripe, as you can see appearing in this pick.

    hi, they're lovely.
    we have a tank of malawi's too (hubby's pride and joy are a breeding pair of 'enormous' fontosa). We also have a south american cichlid tank.
    My Husband is a real fish fanatic, he keeps hinting at a marine tank but we'd need to mortgage the house to achieve that!!!

    i used to have fronts boohoo, wish i never got rid. they get big though.
    what fronts have you got.

    Corrr, dont ask me! they're hubbies. I didn't know they came in different sorts!
    they are big, blue (ish) and have HUGE heads!!!

    so have they got the humps on they're heads. and are they in a big tank.you need a minimum of a 7 ft fish tank to keep them. but what a cracking fish.
