    Hello:)

EDIT: I've just read some of your blog articles. Very good. There's some very inspirational ideas on there. I was amused by this article:

    http://www.city-smallholder.co.uk/blog/2010/04/01/nosey-neighbour-and-borlotti-beans/

At my last house there was no barrier of any kind between our garden and that of the old man next door, and his back windows looked out onto our garden and vice versa. We couldn't do anything about it because the patio area between the back of our houses and our gardens was shared because the only access to the rear of his house from the street was via an alley to the side of our house. As it happens we got on really well and forged a good freindship of the 10 or so years we were there. The wife and I didn't like it at first but very soon our two gardens almost became one big garden, with us all just crossing the dividing line at leisure, and sometimes sharing a bottle of wine on a warm evening. It really does depend on the person though. The old chap next door to us was not really nosey, more interested and interesting. If he'd been nosey and interfering it would really have got unbearable very quickly.

Hiya, and thank you so much for your nice comment. I'm glad you liked the blog and found it interesting. The whole purpose of it is to share our experiences with everyone interested, so it's nice to receive such good feedback.

You seem to have been luckier with your neighbour than us. There had been times when we wished for a similar relationship with our neighbour to the one you've got with yours, but it just wasn't possible. Well, that's life, I suppose. We have solved the problem, however, the back garden is now a private place (and we haven't even finished our dealings with the fence yet). We're currently planning on doing something else with that area of our garden this season. If you're still interested, keep your eye on the blog, we'll post everything on there at the right time. :)
