Help with soil in raised bed please

    Ive found somewhere local that does topsoil...Is this anygood?

    Yes PinkBug, topsoil will be the best choice for you - compost is good but eventually it disappears so you have to add more each year. Are you able to dig out some of your horrible clay soil? You need to be looking at least 12" depth of good topsoil. Altrenatively you can dig pits for each plant and fill these with the nice topsoil. :dbgrtmb:

    I can dig some out, but then im left having to put it either on the small border i have or a small amount into the green bin.

    Im thinking of adding a further 12" to the top of this raised bed by adding a wooden top to it by breaking down old pallets. (Think of an ordinary wooden raised bed planter sat on top) as the raised bed is made totally from red bricks. That should then give me the extra volume needed to dig in the extra soil.
