Still not convinced what you have here are Vine weevils. These are striped and Vine weevils are dusty with vague spots. Provado only kills the grubs in the soil and definitely is not to be used on edible crops.

I must agree with Palustris.Your photo does not match what I would take as Adult Vine weevils, and althought vine weevils notch the leaf edges they are not usually eaten as much as your brassicas ??
generally it is the grubs that destroy plant roots with minimal problems from adults . They like to hide in damp places during daylight hours so moist pieces of sacking under a pot can make a good hiding place then gather and destroy .Cannot think of anything else as yet ..

Thanks for all the input guys , Iam thinking that they are adult vine weevils, I went into the garden last night and they were on top of the two cloches' before i had only seen them under the cloches munching, The nematodes will be here tomorrow, I was wondering can i use the nematodes to water in and spray the plants with systemic pesticide to get rid, I won't be eating any of them, My thinking was that they were trapped under the cloches' Iam bricking it at the moment because all my spuds and stuff will be emerging out of the ground soon FFS:gaagh:
    Thanks again TG.

I lost two pots of strawberries in 2009 and couldn't at first figure what had gone wrong. When I started to clean out the compost I soon discovered why they had died.
I found over thirty of these in one pot!

Put them on a tray in the garden and the birds recycled them:)
