Hi everyone, I planted some delphiniums in pots and a few in my cottage garden bed, I was just wondering how they flower/ when their buds become visible? They have really tall leaves at the moment but no visible flowers. It's my first time attempting to grow them.

when they are ready probably mid summer, being in pots they will flower later and be over much earlier. I would not plant these in pots as they need plenty of root space.

Really? I wonder could I shift them into a flower bed at this stage? Thanks

My delphiniums are just starting to show the beginnings of flower heads now, Freedom Spark so they'll be summer flowering.
I agree with Lad that pots might not be the best place for them - they do get very big. I think you could transplant them carefully. And watch out for slugs which just love them. Hope you get a great show - and me too.

Don't forget to support the Delphiniums.
My tallest one is over 4' and I came perilously close to losing it this weekend with the winds.
I personally use canes and stringaround the group, but others have advised chicken wire collars or Willow twigs etc.
