Excellent - looks yummy, and quite early too, or is it normal down your way, or for those with greenhouses? :)

One day i'll be able to pick a box like that, don't have the space at the moment, but i'm working on it!

      It tastes fantastic Pixie:thumbsup:

Not greenhouse, but the Beetroot, carrots & Mangetout were brought on in hot beds and under frames, the rest was outside.

        :D

        You're welcome anytime Armandii.

I'd forgotten how good Sea Beet tastes, lightly boiled for a couple of minutes. We've bred a lot of flavour out of things in favour of size. Which reminds me, must get down & pick some Wild Leeks this week.

Before Scrunge gets them all :heehee:

Looking at the price of veg in there, I doubt I could afford it:OUCH:

I know it takes time but it keeps you out in the fresh air & gives exercise too, only just come in & I still smell of onions:D

Seeds don't have to be that expensive, been known to come out of the garden centre only 17p lighter & still have enough seed for a row.

Things got a little sparse towards the end of winter, only had onions, garlic, kale, lettuce, rocket, beetroot, cabbage jerusalem artichokes, parsnips, leeks, celery, chillies, leaf beet, psb, french beans, basil, chives & sage; supplemented by pickled beetroot, corgettes, tomato chutney, apple chutney, apple sauce, dried apples, crystalised apples, rose hip syrup, medlar jelly & salted samphire.

Did have to buy 1 sack of spuds & a bag of salad when I was working away but that should be it for this year with regard to shop bought veg, its all coming in from the plots now:dbgrtmb:

You noticed that it's spring tides, with high tides nice and early in the morning around the beginning of next week then? - I'm keeping an eye on the weather forecasts.

I though this was an apt location for sea beet to be growing:

Now the weathers picked up I will be thinking about a fish again, to supplement the veg harvest:dbgrtmb:

Very good Picture Scrunge, is that Watchet ?

Yes, been going on hols down that way since I was about 8 years old. Plans for my last trip to Chesil got abandoned, but I ended up catching a load of mackerel in Tescos when they were on 'special' @ half price, then reduced to half that again. Bought two whole boxes and they worked out @ 20p each and they weren't joeys either. Eating some of those soused right now with some early spuds & salad stuff from the plot. Maybe some fresher ones fried up with some garlic scapes next week?
