My names is Caroline and I'm only just getting interested in gardening, moved last year to a house with a large garden and its this year (after decorating inside) that I'm wanting to learn more about whats already growing in this garden and to add to it myself. The garden is south facing in the afternoon and is fairly sheltered. Climbing plants thrive in it, got about 7 clematis, a honeysuckle, star jasmine (thats the only 1 I've planted) and a lovely grapevine which is going mad at the minute!
Anyway I've got a particular plant that I'd like help identifying, looked online but haven't got anywhere! :)

Thanks for the welcome, thought I'd post a few pic's of my garden too:

This one is a just from top to bottom of the garden, please excuse the wonky paving slabs, they're a temporary measure:

The lawn bit, the greenhouse at the bottom is in the process of being cleaned ready to be moved to the side of the buddelia (right of the photo). Got a wooden play centre to be built on the area where the greenhouse was - got to keep my 2 boys amused so I can get out in the garden without them wanting me every 2 minutes!

My favourite plant of the summer so far, Nemesia Wisley Vanilla, its at the side of the door and it smells absolutely gorgeous

This is the grapevine thats gone a bit mad!

I'm assuming this is clematis? It grows like mad and I'm forever cutting the long spindly bits back
