This little chap (well two of them actually) appeared at the feeder a few days ago
I have never seen this little bird before, although it is supposed to be quite prevalent (hiding mostly in hedgerows and woodlands I suppose)
Apparently it doesn't eat seeds or nuts, so it must have enjoyed the half coconut of fat [IMG]
Always nice to capture something different, although they didn't wait to pose and I was lucky to get a shot at all

I love these, and although they are supposed to be fairly prevalent, I have only started to see them in my garden these past 2 - 3 years. I have seen them in the last few days too, and yes, always in pairs. They seem to be a bit timid of other birds. Mine were feeding on Niger seeds in a feeder which only they, and Goldfinches use. :)

Apparently, if it wasn't for their tail, which accounts for more than half their length, they would be the smallest British bird! Instead, that honour goes to the Goldcrest.

Normally in small groups but sometimes in pairs, they never stay long in one place.
