Aubrieta on old walls

Hi all. I have a small bay in front of my house with an old wall between bay and pavement. I'd love to see it festooned with deep purple Aubrieta next Spring.
How do I plant it out to begin with, and when please? The wall's crevices aren't all that deep to be able to put plugs into them.
I would appreciate all the advice you can give me.

The aubretia is a small bushy plant that you can use as ground cover or a mild cascading effect from a wall. It needs a fresh climate and lot of light.
Eats like a fattening turkey in terms of fertilizer and needs a lot of water.
Opinion on the flowering are quite diverse. Some say it flowers only for a short time in spring, some say otherwise, but the foliage is minute and pretty.
Right now is the time to sow it. Temperature around 20 degrees celsius, it will germinate in 15-20 days.

Light, well drained and calcareous ground. You can water it with water from the tap (if it releases lots of residue in the kettle it means it has got a lot of calcar) or you can add egg shells to the ground.
