Yes, I have to agree. They didn't give much warning that they were going to show his dead body.

The coverage of videos and photography has been gross. It's quite upsetting. I have managed to hide it from the kids but it's kind of grotesque the way the UK media has reveled in the bloody imagery and videos. I know death is part of life but I have never seen the internet media produce quite so many front page pics without a graphic content warning.

Sadly I think we will now see Libya go the way of iraq - civil war and islamic extremists. And sharia law. They shoot the dictators down and replace them with people who are just as bonkers.

A very good year for america I think, first Osama, now Gaddafi. Even though they weren't really involved in his downfall.

Justice is served for the people of Lockerbie but will the truth out ? Has he taken the truth to his grave or will Megrahi finally give in & say ?

*dim* for once I actually agree with you. The west needs oil, and we are slowly taking control of the sources. If we DO have a humanitarian reason for " democrocising" these countries then why haven`t we taken down Mugabe in Zimbabwe?

exactly .... it's sad but very few people see what's really happening behind the scenes.... that was the reason of me posting those youtube videos

however, Gaddafi was no angel and commited many crimes including the Lockerbie disaster, but neither was bush or blair angels either ....

I think if one looks at who was responsible for the most deaths of innocent people, Gadaffi comes nowhere near some of the western leaders (who still walk free and proud)

I still think Blair and Bush should be done for crimes against humanity. They had NO reason to invade Iraq. I think Bush only wanted to better his father.

I don't really pay much attention to US politics, but I remember a BBC documentary that found that a company called Haliburton had been awarded many contracts in support of the Iraq war. Dick Cheney was a major shareholder in Haliburton, and also very senior in the US gov at the start of the war.

I seem to remember that the company that got the contracts to rebuild the oil infrastructure went to a company that turned out to be headed up by one of Bush's relatives.

There was NO reason for the US or UK to invade Iraq. In fact the original excuse depended upon the ignorance of ordinary US people (US Gov's judgement not mine). I remember claims that Saddam had missiles with a range of nearly 2000 km, which meant he could attack the US. A quick glance at a map should have been enough to expose that claim as ludicrous. And from our side of the pond, 45 minutes notice to attack us with weapons of mass destruction. We're talking about a country whose leader thought it would be a good idea to build a massive massive cannon (any remember the 'supergun'?).

The "supergun" was built by a UK firm. If I remember rightly, Dick Cheney was the US Vice President?
