What are some herbs native to Britain? If you can narrow it down to England, Scotland, etc, that would be great...not to worry if not.

    What kind of habitat?

    Marshland
    Moors
    Bogs
    Hedgerows
    Cultivated fields
    Fallow fields

    Etc etc

Simon it might be better if you can give some context to narrow down your enquiry.
Or else a proper native plant database is your best bet. :)

Bog Myrtle - Acid soils, found it in Wales, makes a great wine, bit like Retzina.

Marjoram - Neutral to Alkaline soils

    Thyme.

Should 'great wine' and 'Retsina' be in the same sentence?

(One day Zig I will tell you a story about Retsina)

      Retsina ....

headache in a bottle .... had it several times as a student touring Greece on an 18 month gap year (toured Greece, Israel, Uk, and Europe)....

felt like the top of my head was sawn off, my mouth felt like the bottom of a budgie cage .... and it felt like there was sandpaper behind my eyeballs

I was very 'ill' (for several days) ... and my friends said I was 'pale' ... even though the sun was shining

and I never learned my lesson ... repeated the mistake ('several times')?

Ouzo was bad when drunk in vast quantities, but was not as bad as Retsina
      :o
