    Hello!

My name is Max and I live in London.

I have been a professional gardener for 3 years now - I like it, but am also like sleeping a bit later.

I was wondering if anyone knows of any jobs within gardening that start just a little later than normal, say nine a.m.?

    Thank you ever so much!

    Cheerio!

    Max

      Thanks for both your advice!

I will keep looking for this later starting job! Even half eight would do!

Also - I really want to keep kicking on with boosting my plant knowledge and this place seems like a really good one for advice and idents, so now I've joined, I will check back!

      Thanks!

      Max

ps if you ever hear of this elusive 9-5 job, let me know thanks!

As a groundsman I started at 7.30, went home for tea at 5pm & would be back till 8 or 9pm in the summer cutting lawns after the students had finished.

Hello Max and welcome to the forum. I can't imagine there is much chance of working shifts or later starts, what does your employer say? Have you asked them if you can start later?

Hiya JWK, we work a normal day - i would definitely work a later shift:dbgrtmb: though!

I think I'll have to have little naps in the evening before my girlfriend gets home to stay fresh!

          Hello and welcome Max.

I technically work 9-5. In reality the time I set off for work is the later of either whenever I can be bothered or when I think it is late enough so that my boss wont think I'm odd. That usually means I start between 7:45 and 8 AM. If I had my way, every working day for me would be 6AM til 2PM. I could never see the point of work taking up the best part of the day. I know that working outdoors brings a whole different set of rules, just by virtue of the fact that you're kind of governed by when the sun us up, but still for me, early start, early finish is best.
