Well, I'm off to Bournemouth for a family celebration on Sunday afternoon and back again in the evening. It's only 145 miles each way. :phew: :heehee:

Its worth considering Lolimac , I love the Tenby area - stunning coves and beaches :yess: Although I think these days Tenby has become a bit of a stag and hen do venue, but the other resorts in the area are excellent :dbgrtmb: Amroth was very pretty.............

Sounds great Simbad, not long to wait.:dbgrtmb:
We are off to Kenya in July as it's a special too (retirement).

Harry, we went to Olu Deniz in Turkey a few years ago, fantastic country although in August it was around 40c and a little too hot for sightseeing!

Trunky, the Rockies are amazing although we only saw the US part, I envy you.:)

Well, those of you that are going on more distant holidays have picked some good places :dbgrtmb:.

Trunky, the Rockies are spectacular.

Strongy, you'll certainly enjoy Kenya and should see a lot of wildlife. :dbgrtmb:

Simbad, Antigua is one of the nicer islands to stay on :yess:. I know someone there who likes to listen to music whilst doing his gardening :rolleyespink:

Great place to Strongy, especially the Samburu region where there used to be masses of wild life to see but be careful if you get to Mombassa; had problems there with pickpockets.
We are celebrating our 50th this year so could be partying too much to think about going away - maybe up tp Gleneagles - great place to stay with excellent golf........

Strongy, have been to Olu Deniz a couple of times , we love it. As long as you keep clear of the hang gliders landing off Babadag mountain !It does have a special atmosphere in the evening :dbgrtmb: Olu is on the Turquoise Coast , the second pic shows why -an incredible sea colour !

Shiney, she realises it won't look the same still wants to see Nairobi again.

Barnaby, not going anywhere near Mombassa, Samburu is on the trip plus Tsavo, Amboseli, Nakuru and the Mara. (Kuoni Leopard Safari).

Harry, Olu Deniz was perfect, few Night Clubs and no noise after 12.30 and mainly low rise buildings, a fantastic place.:dbgrtmb:

Somerset is a beautiful county (even though Zig hangs around there:gaagh:), we go there frequently to visit my Mum.:dbgrtmb:

Might go and cycle down the Danube from the source to the German/Austrian border. Planned it twice already and it's been postponed for various reasons. Third time lucky?
