Do you make use of herbs (I don't mean tobacco) which definitely have a positive impact on your health? Could you advice some?

we've always made a comfrey tea for adding to our cattle water troughs for any time it seems they've needed a kickstart after any digestive upset or just as a sort tonic pick you up. We once had a young animal who got his foot broken after slipping in a rabbit hole and the vet said he should be put down due to chances of recovery/cost of setting the leg.
My husband made a comfrey poultice which he applied to the leg wrapped in a bandage. He then made a fibreglass cast(!)
The leg mended and he removed the fibreglass after a few weeks.

Since then, we are even more convinced of the effectiveness of comfrey for healing and as a digestive aid. Comfrey tea is quite pleasant too, 'green' tea taste.

An infusion of sage leaves really helps me whenever I get heartburn. Sage has been used for centuries to aid digestion, so my observed benefit is probably not a placebo effect.

An infusion of rosemary last thing at night is great for unlocking all those annoying subconscious thoughts that bug us (like when we're wound up about something and don't know what or why). Rosemary infusion last thing before bed will ensure some freaky intense dreams that help you work out what's going on in there:)

An infusion of yarrow helps for cold and flue symptoms. Except seeing as its not evergreen, it tends to not be there when you need it most, ie usually in winter.

The old, common, name for comfrey is knitbone. So your hubby did it right. :dbgrtmb:

There are hundreds of herbs (a few dozen that are quite popular) and thousands of ways to use them. You can usually pick up books about them quite cheaply at book sales, car boot sales and secondhand bookshops.

I use Echinacea for building up the immune system.. St John's wort is good for depression, toasted sunflower seeds are a good source of vitamin E..
I am also a fan of cider vinegar & honey daily..

Theres so many herbalist's here, pricey also. One herb I trust now to do exactly what it says is Mullen, it opens up your bronchial tubes right quick. I take it in tablet form when I get a touch of bronchitis which I am prone to, better than going to the Dr and getting stuck on a steroids
