This Morning My Wife being sarcastic, thanked me for the Bouquet of Flowers,
I never gave her !!. I went into the hut, then went into the living room and said,
"Never let it be said that I am Miserable, and gave her a packet of Night Scented Stock Seeds.

I am now using a tooth pick to get them out of my teeth :WINK1:.

Nothing different than any other year in the 44 years ... nada ... no card (oh, think he made one once) / flowers/ whatever ... I cooked dinner ... he enjoyed it, a chicken tikka lasagna which I can't eat so I had a cottage pie. :)

What's the big deal and what do women get out of it I ask ....

Other half and I don't 'do' Valentines day either. Having said that he bought me two large bars of Cadbury's chocolate, one of which is the turkish delight one. :)

Ziggy.......you'd best be quick, I've already demolished one! :heehee:

          I do not really know
We celebrated it the one year we were engaged, then after that we did not bother , Just a money grabbing affair
Roses normally a £1 a bloom this week £4, though you can now get an ASDA card for 7p or actually 10 for 70p

We love each other everyday, not one day a year,
It is the same with anniversaries, we do not really bother, maybe I am tight
We go out often for evening meals, and actually avoid Valentines week, as too full and inflated prices

Guys well I expect they do it to avoid the Flack, or improve their chances if not attached
Girls, you will have to tell us what is so Romantic, unless it is the only chance for a good meal, a pressy and someone to show love and respect once a year

At least in not expecting anything, I wasn't disappointed!

Of course, if he had suddenly (from America) arranged the delivery of a card, flowers, chocklits, expensive pressie, I'd be wondering what the hell he was up to :loll:

I'm not stingy - the only reason I didn't buy flowers on the day was that every room already had a vase of perfectly good flowers in it from when I'd found loads reduced to 20p a bunch several days before.

But as those flowers have now passed their best I went out today and bought Mrs Scrungee a giant bouquet of 48 red tulips:

It's the thought that counts - one year I managed to find a bottle of champagne with 50% off because the label was torn.

What a bunch of 'old (and young) romantics' on this thread. Bought a card and received a card - so everyone was happy here, as every other year for the past 49 - big event later in the year so more flowers will be needed
