There is only the house, which we've agreed 50/50 after the mortgage is paid back, sold most over things.

Oh, anyone want to buy a flat screen Sony Bravia?

      Half the battle done!
When I split up with my ex we wrote it down on a bit of paper, took it to a solicitor who did the legals for £200 between us plus court fees. Twenty years ago, but just a weeks wages was worth it for no amateurish cock-ups.

        :) Whatever happened to........

To have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part.

They forget that bit around the mid forties, start wearing ridiculous clothes and hating men before going off to festivals to be with other "wimmin"

Cheaper in the long run, unless you fall on your feet like I did with Sue!

I've been married to my wife for more than 26 years .... if ever she decided to part, I'd be gutted but I'd tell her to take the whole lot, would pack a hiking bag and go far .... somewhere like Antartica .... good money and long term contracts ... from £23k for 6 months ....

no shops so you cannot spend money ... you get fed and all money is tax free ... all you need is a bag of tobacco and the odd pint of beer ... I'd take a 12 month contract then go somewhere warmer with £40k-£50k to play with

I would not bother with hanging around

There is always somethng for everyone. It depends on the complexities of your relationship, how much intertwined the finances are, and what level of communication there is between the both. I would perfer the paper method and a low cost divorce lawyer. Have it all filled out before meeting with him and signed. I know there is a cost for filing etc. Keep the house in both your names and sell it jointly that can be done afterwards.
              Sorry, Ziggy, its ruff.

The one I have now is my second one. My first, after 4 years decided that a flat chested, no education, short,10 years younger, brown haired, cocktail waitress was worth the split. Go figure. I just guess he could not handle a "real" women. Thank goodness I had no children by him.

It was insulting, at least show me a long legged blond with great boobs.
              Whatever. Again, go figure.

Back to you Ziggy, Cheaper is not always the way, quality for your buck so it sticks is good.

                For ziggy and his ex.

                Good luck to you both,
I hope the rest of both your lives works out for the best.

Devorce is a nasty word in my book and the only fear i have in life is losing my other half,

We've been together for 37 years now "but its more when you retire that your together a lot more ie it really is 24/7 and for me its the icing on the cake after years of hard work crappy hours and seeing young people promoted due to being related to the owners of a few companies i worked for (until having the gutts to go self employed)

Devorce is much the same (having the gutts to say No) its not working lets call it a day and going your own way,

It's not a crime you've commited, its just the way things turned out,

Lets hope both of you find what your looking for in the future:WINK1:

I'm kinda thinking, fill the forms in ourselves, then pass it over to my solicitor, telling him thats the way we want it, then get him to bang it through the courts.

When its finalised, i'm off on a date with your Avatar:D

Divorce is horrible but I certainly don't regret getting shot of my ex. As wife #3 put it on Twitter recently: 'he doesn't say a lot. He's just kind of there'. You could, of course, say the same about dry rot. :heehee:
