    A pub near us has these in large tubs. They inherited them some years back and the publican would like to know what they are. They look very familiar to me but I can't think of the name.

    Thanks, I thought about Red Robin but don't remember seeing the brightly coloured leaves during the year (although it looks as though they are growing in the photos). It's probably the case of blindly walking past something that has been there for years :doh:

    I think what's thrown you Shiney is, that they've been grown as 'standards' they are usually in shrub form. :)

    They look like rhododendron to me but I could be wrong.
