A Laburnum which has flowered beautifully for 40 years was once again sporting little yellow buds on ALL branches and I was looking forward to the great display soon. I could really not believe it when I checked again today and I cannot think what could possibly have caused it: all branches are now completely bare again, and where the buds were before there are now merely little bits of black crumbs . How is that possible: a tree dying within ONE week?
    Thank you

    Welcome to Gardeners Corner:sign0016:

Might have drowned, either that or a fungus attack.

Seems a bit late for a Laburnum

Sounds like a "late" Laburnum alright.

I've heard that they can give an almighty last push and then suddenly die the next year
