My son, three years ago planted something in a small tub and left it on a window sill in the kitchen. Three years on and it has grown to this... (see attached) the plant has recently been relegated to the greenhouse and since it has been there it has grown huge needles (probably as an angry statement to being kicked out the kitchen :snork:). The only clue is that it "maybe" a fruit stone??? then again ........... who knows?

it would most likely be if rather than when in such cases but there are a number of factors to consider.
      • it may not be self fertile so it would require pollinating with another plant
      • it might not produce fruit because it is not warm enough
      • The plant you have will not be the same as the fruit it came from and quite possibly will be inedible
see this article on apples for some explanations http://treesandshrubs.about.com/od/propagation/f/applesfromseed.htm

It looks like a Lemon to me, Oranges tend to have darker more glossy leaves.

As mentioned it may never bare fruit but if it does you'd have to expect a wait of possibly somewhere between 5 and 10 years from seed, still good fun and satisfying knowing its grown from a seed/pip your son planted :dbgrtmb:
