    Well they aint cabbage whites. They may be something benificial to the garden so don't squish until you know!

    Cheers tony, someone on another forum told me they could be stink bugs which originate from cihna/japan/taiwan regions. Im not too keen on the sound of that.....

    So how did they get onto your sunflower leaf?!?! I've been watching the Aussie passport patrol programmes, now those people are paranoid about importing bugs etc!

      Well I am hoping it is the eggs of the green shield bug & they are harmless except for munching leaves..

      These are the eggs of the Stink bug they herald from Asia.. Stink bugs are not a notifiable bug in the UK but the defra site will tell you about that..

      These are both suggestions from another forum too, went to garden centre who said to go to vets with them who phoned defra, i know our local defra woman from work so hopefully she will either disregard it or tell me its nothing to worry about either way theyre pretty evil looking things

      Certainally will do im anxious to know meself either way if nothings happened by the end of the day the leaf in question is being burned

      Leaves from the sunflower have now gone off for inspection, he dont think theyre green shielded, more likely to be stink bugs but wont know for sure until monday

      Well well the plot thickens.. I wonder how long we have had them here as stink bugs are from Asia..
