Hi. My names Andy and I'm a few miles outside of Newquay. I'm 42, married with two crazy kids. I am clueless about gardening and it shows. Recently I have been laid off so I have a wee bit more time to get it sorted.
    Greets to all.

    Hi Andy,
hope you'll like it here. Many members juggle gardening with family, work and domestics so we understand how difficult it can be to keep it in shape. Hope we can help out here and there. Some of 'em on here are barking mad and have never really grown up !!:dancy:

    Welcome to GC, Andy. :sign0016:

Ouch, sorry to hear you've been laid off, bad news for you - but great news for your garden!

Hmm, that does imply that you will be gardening on a tight budget, so, keep an eye out on the autumn sales in the garden centres (some have 50% off at the moment, but do look around) and start gathering seeds and stuff. These items will be back to full price before you know it.!

Have a good read through the "Beginners" forum; I have found lots of great advice already written there.

Tip: when asking for advice on what you already have/need to do, posting a picture is probably the best way for others to get a good feel of what you are asking. Plus, seeing *before* and *after* pix is always a thrill.

You need to know which aspect your garden faces - this can save you a few bob on putting things in the wrong place; I know from experience  - and have a rough idea what type of soil you are working with.

Looking forward to getting to know you around the forums :)

Hi Andy, welcome to Gardeners Corner.:snork: Sorry to hear about you being laid off, my friend, but hopefully you'll find another job soon and an employer who appreciates you. As Mum say's you don't have to spend a lot of money on gardening as seeds are cheap enough if you take a look around and members might even send you some along with cuttings.........you never know!!:hapydancsmil:
