Fantastic day out there, like stepping back in time. For those of you who don't know of it, its a valley in Sussex where timber framed buildings are re erected when they've had to be moved for by passes or re development. Found a potting shed Complete with the Gardener. This garden is a recreation of a landless peasant's garden, everything growing has a practical use. Upstairs toilet. Loved this one. Not only did we get in for free (Been saving the free passes from college) but we also got free chocolate & were fed tudor stylee Leek Bread from one of the kitchen recreations
Great pictures again Ziggy. I love the buildings, I bet you could feel the history oozing out of them. If I'm ever down that way, I'll be making a visit.
I'd love to go there Ziggy, it's not far from us yet I've never been able to persuade the family to visit, not enough scary rides there for them
The Horse & cart ride was a bit scary, horses don't have clutches, they just go with inertial dampers offline. My lot loved it, even the teenagers, you get a £2 off voucher for West Dean Gardens as well Don't know if we can fit that one in though.
Very interesting place, we went there about 23 years ago when we lived in Havant, I thought they would have double glazing by now!!
Great pics Ziggy & it certainly does look like you are all enjoying yourselves.. It does look a great place to visit..
The two that I like, are http://www.museumwales.ac.uk/en/stfagans/ And the best of all is Ballenburg http://ballenberg.ch/en/Welcome It takes three days to look at Ballenburg properly. I'd just love to be able to afford to go back for another visit.
Just bumped this one for Freddy, rather than hijacking the other thread. Chichester is busy but a great centre for a holiday, coastal plains to the south, chalk downland to the north
Thanks Zigs, I was a bit mindful of that It's a part of the country I've never been to...one of these days
Worth a go Freddy, as I say, main roads are a bit mental but the villages are quiet, some stunning Countryside around. You've got towns like Brighton, Midhurst & Bognor nearby, although as James Swann will tell you, Bognor is now a suburb of Moscow.
LOVED all the pictures Zig!!! I've seen this place on a show, might have been Escape to the Country, and knew thats a place that i have to visit
If you've seen a series called The 10th Kingdom you will have seen it. That was shot on the same spot as the Morris dancers in the earlier pic
