    Hi all,

just joined and wanted to say hello!

I'm fairly new to owning my own garden and have so many questions already, but hope as I get more experience I can return the favour and help others!:)

My garden is 'slightly' overgrown - house was empty for at least 18 months before we bought it and I don't think much had happened in the garden for a while before then

Fortunately the majority of the back garden was previously used as a vegetable plot so the soil is fantastic crumbly rich black gold (also ph around 7-8), but where it hasn't been improved (under old paths) it's sticky clay. Front garden is currently all crazy paving so not looking forward to sorting out that!

I think it's a south west aspect for the back garden, seems sunny anyways, but it is a bit of a wind tunnel and the front garden gets the morning sun only

I'm hoping to transform it all into something buzzing with wildlife and be all good and organic (tho the slugs test my patience!), and I'm planning a random mix of flowery stuff and hopefully uncommon veg

Looking forward to being part of such a lively and happy forum :)

(I do have some pics of what it looked like when we moved in but not sure how to properly upload them so will go away and read that thread!)
